Good afternoon Wrangler Fans, Per a release from the WHSAA: We will extend the suspension of all activities until Monday, April 6th.  So that everyone will be on an equal playing field, there will be NO PRACTICES during the suspension. If and when we do resume spring sports, we will hold to the 9 day practice rule and will count any practices from last week.  We recommend you encourage your athletes to stay active and workout on their own during this time period. The HS and JH track schedule will be greatly modified.  Updates to the schedules will be coming in the future as we get closer to the April 6th date.   Max Mills, CAA

Friday, March 13, 2020 Coronavirus Precautions At Fremont County School District 24, one of our goals is to maintain a learning environment that is safe for all students, faculty, staff and guests. Due to growing concerns about COVID-19, we wanted to share this status update with you. We live in a global economy and a global society, even here in Fremont County. People travel, now more than ever. The Center for Disease Control and Health organizations are looking out for all of us trying to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus or COVID-19. Health organizations are trying to buy time so that they can further research, develop, test, and manufacture solutions to the new or novel viral strain called Coronavirus. If you would like more information specifically about COVID-19, I would encourage you to reference the Center for Disease Control’s website, www.cdc.gov. The main health concern is that the disease is being spread from person to person and can result in the death of a patient. More cases are expected to be identified in the United States in the coming days and the World Health Organization has declared this to be a pandemic. Currently, we encourage all students, parents, faculty, staff and guests to take practical steps to minimize potential exposure, in much the same way you would during flu season. This includes minimizing physical contact, washing your hands thoroughly when you do make contact with another person, and staying home when you feel ill. The most common symptoms are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Parents are encouraged to keep their students home from school if they are experiencing these symptoms. Currently, there is no vaccine to prevent coronavirus. School districts, the Wyoming Department of Education, and the Wyoming Health Department met virtually this afternoon and we will not be closing schools. We will continue to educate ourselves through research, understanding, and best practices. Our main priority is to keep people well and be able to educate our students. When a person in Fremont County has been diagnosed with Covid-19, our district will work with Fremont County Health to determine next steps based upon what information that has been learned in the interim and then decide what needs to happen next. Thus far, it has been documented that children and young adults have not been impacted by Coronavirus to the extent as those over 50 or with respiratory/immune/diabetic complications. As a school district, we need to look at all of our people and determine the best solution for all of our Wrangler family members. In light of the current health concerns, we are working to ensure our district is following recommendations from our local, state, and CDC health organizations in minimizing opportunities for the transfer of communicable diseases. Our transportation, cafeteria, janitorial, and instructional staff have been diligently working to make sure our environment continues to be an opportunity to learn, grow, and provide an educational experience. In response to how we move forward when our district has a confirmed case COVID-19, we will close the school for 72 hours to clean and disinfect. The local health department will interview the confirmed case of COVID-19 to minimize the impact of the spread of COVID-19.. The district will work with Fremont County Health to determine next steps and stakeholders will be informed. As a Wrangler family, we will work through this. We will separate the wheat from the chaff, and we will make informed decisions in the best interest of our kids and our communities. We ask that you help us in navigating this influx of information and media to determine the best solutions for our Wrangler families. We will provide you with more information as soon as it is available. Thank you for your understanding.
