Pre-Lesson Focus

The teacher wants to know if he/she asks questions in which the students respond without saying yes or no. The teacher also wants to know if the appropriate wait time is used after asking a question. Finally the teacher wants to know if the students have experienced some sort of knowledge transfer due to the instruction. The coach and teacher go over the form and discuss what items are on the form. At this point the two people decide on a time when the coach will observe and then conduct the observation. After the lesson has been taught, they set up a time to de-brief.
