The Coach Must Be AffirmingWith this process it is natural for some teachers to have some apprehension, anxiety, or lack of trust. It is the coach's responsibility to maintain a positive and affirming position to make the teacher feel at ease. Some food for thought at this time would be appropriate. Coaching can encourage teachers to become greater risk-takers, which can be a good thing. Another point for consideration is that the classroom belongs to the teacher. The coach is merely a guest in the room. The coach should ask not tell. |
