Some common sense ideas to help you stay clear of colds and the flu -
1. Get a flu shot every year
2. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing & sneezing--THEN WASH YOUR HANDS!
3. Wash your hands often with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer
4. Avoid close contact with those who are ill; avoid handshaking
5. Regularly disinfect common contact surfaces--telephones and door knobs.
6. When you are sick, STAY HOME FROM SCHOOL AND WORK. Limit contact with others as much as possible. Hoe do people get ill in the first place? Contact with sick people.
7. PLEASE DO NOT SEND SICK CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. THIS JUST SPREADS ILLNESS TO OTHERS.
Start every winter season healthy with an immune system that can keep you healthy--eat a balanced diet (with fruit, vegetables, and a good intake of water daily) and get an adequate amount of sleep so you are not run down and tired. It is also recommended that we all take a daily multivitamin. Let's keep those colds & flu away!
